Published work on canine orthoses and external coaptation is a mix of small prospective studies, case series and reviews. Reading it properly means reading the sample size and the limitations in the same breath as the finding. Nothing on this page is a statement about the products this company sells.

- What it suggests: both excessive and insufficient pressure can damage tissue, so limb temperature, swelling, pain, skin and pressure distribution belong on the recheck list.
- Limitations: a technical measurement study; it does not establish a pressure threshold for clinical use.
Knee orthoses after cranial cruciate ligament rupture

- Sample: two dogs.
- What it suggests: a useful early-stage signal about lameness and weight distribution, suitable for generating hypotheses.
- Limitations: with a sample of two, this cannot be used as evidence of effectiveness, and it should not be presented to owners as a guarantee of recovery.
A custom orthotic boot for distal limb and pad wounds
- Source: case series; PMID 23889595.
- Sample: three dogs; wounds contracted and epithelialised at 21, 21 and 45 days; two dogs developed mild skin irritation at the boot cuff, managed with additional closed-cell foam padding.
- What it suggests: cuff padding, edge finishing and skin checks are practical design and management considerations.
- Limitations: three cases cannot be generalised to all wounds or breeds.
Feline rehabilitation

- What it suggests: cats with orthopaedic, fracture and joint conditions can benefit from physical rehabilitation, but feline behaviour calls for a more cautious, lower-stress approach, after a clear diagnosis and with the plan matched to surgical stability and disease stage.
- Implication for device use in cats: do not simply reuse a dog protocol; low-stress handling and a separate adaptation plan are needed.
- Limitations: a review article; specific contraindications and case boundaries require the full text.

- None of the studies above evaluated the products sold by this company.
- A reported complication rate in one population does not predict the rate in another setting, device or species.
- Small case series and two-dog studies describe possibilities; they do not establish effectiveness.
