What it is
The Zhivon veterinary thermoplastic splint is a low-temperature, heat-formable support for dogs and cats. It softens with heat, molds to the contours of the limb, spine or ribs, and hardens into a stable structure — and can be re-heated for fit adjustment during recovery as the pet's condition changes.
It is intended to provide auxiliary stabilization and support when selected and fitted by a veterinarian or trained professional. Professional models use a low-allergen medical backing for direct skin contact after appropriate preparation. Finished sheets include a food-contact-grade bittering agent intended to discourage chewing; response varies by patient and supervision remains necessary.

Low-Temperature Thermoplastic

Hot water, ~30 s
Softening point 70 °C. In daily use, heat in water at about 70 °C — the bath cools quickly once the sheet is immersed, faster in winter. Mold while pliable, no special tools required.
Cool → rigid
Hardens and holds its shape after about 10 minutes at 25 ± 2 °C. Set hardness: Shore D ≥ 50.

Four sheet models, cut to finished size. All sheets are 2.5 ± 0.5 mm thick. Adhesive backing is pre-applied; the release liner peels off before use.

Professional models are suited to spinal and rib rehabilitation. Re-molding within a treatment course means re-heating and adjusting the same splint after fitting — not re-use on another pet. For hygiene, each splint serves one pet for one course; used splints are discarded as ordinary waste.

How to mold & apply
1. Heat
Hot water (~70 °C), ~30 s.
2. Form
Mold to limb, spine or ribs.
3. Cool
~10 min, sets rigid.
4. Fit
Check integrity, secure.
- Heat: soak the sheet in hot water at about 70 °C for about 30 seconds until fully soft, or apply a hot-air dryer evenly for 60–90 seconds. The start with hotter water because the bath cools quickly once the sheet is in, faster in winter.
- Protect: never press the hot sheet directly against the pet — keep a protective cloth between the sheet and the coat to prevent burns. For Professional models, shave the site first; the low-allergen medical backing then applies directly to the skin.
- Mold: shape the softened sheet over the affected limb, spine or ribs and hold it in place.
- Set: keep the position for about 10 minutes until the sheet hardens into a rigid support.
- Check: inspect sheet integrity before each use. Use under veterinary guidance; if the pet shows discomfort, stop and consult a veterinarian. Fit adjustments during the same treatment course are made by re-heating the same splint; after the course, discard it as ordinary waste.
